Janis Pryor has been formally studying art since the age of 13. She attended the High School of Music & Art in New York City and was an art major at Bennington College. She focused on color field painting, drawing and architecture.She took a thirty year hiatus of professional employment in politics and media returning to her first loves of art and writing several years ago. In 2004, she began exploring pastels as a medium for abstract expression. This medium inadvertently became a vehicle for her grief over the loss of the love of her life in 2007. Countless numbers of work
accompanied her as she wrote, White Roses…a memoir, holding the impossible, a love story before and after death.
