Painting Trees & Snow:Beginner Landscape Painting via Zoom, Feb 24-March 10

Description:

In this three session beginner painting workshop, the focus of the class will be painting winter trees and snow in an impressionistic style building up the painting in layers. This class will take place over Zoom and be recorded should you miss a class or want to do it on your own.

We will start by sketching and investigating the shapes of different trees and how light creates the form. We will pay attention to the direction of the limbs, sky holes and the tree’s proportions to bring it to life and give it personality. Students will first work in just one neutral color, focusing on dark to light. There will then be instruction in mixing colors and how to sketch in paint using complimentary colors and building up layers. Students can work in oils or acrylics (the instructor will be using oils) with a limited palette of color and supplies that can be purchased at Michaels or online. Class size is limited to  12 students to allow for of individual attention. (This class is also open to high school students) There will be plenty of time to ask questions and feedback will be given along the way.

Wednesdays, Feb 24-March 10 (3 classes) 6:00-8:30pm  $165 (classes will be live but also recorded and students will get the recording emailed to them each week)
